What I do with your details.

Last updated 27 July 2026

Short version: the only personal information I hold about you is what you type into the contact form, I use it to reply to you, and you can ask me to delete it at any time.

Who I am

Whetstone is Archie Kennett, a sole trader based in Bournemouth, Dorset. I am the data controller for this website. Email me at archiek@whetstone.studio — a postal address is available on request.

What I collect

From the contact form: your name, phone number, email address, and whatever you write in the message box. Nothing else, and nothing is pre-filled or inferred.

My host also records standard server logs for every visit — IP address, browser, the page requested, the time. That is ordinary web-server activity and I do not use it to identify anyone.

Why I have it

To read your enquiry and reply to it. That is the only reason. The lawful basis is legitimate interests: you contacted me about work, so answering you is what you would expect.

I will not add you to a mailing list, and I will not sell, rent or share your details with anyone for marketing.

Who else sees it

Three suppliers handle your message on its way to me, and none of them use it for anything of their own:

  • Vercel — hosts this website and runs the form.
  • Resend — delivers the form submission to my inbox.
  • Google Workspace — the inbox itself.

If you go on to become a client, I will tell you about anything else your own project needs before it is set up.

How long I keep it

Enquiry emails stay in my inbox for up to 24 months and are then deleted. If you become a client I keep project correspondence for as long as I have to for tax and accounting, which in the UK is six years.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads nothing from advertising networks. Fonts and images are served from this domain. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.

Your rights

You can ask me for a copy of what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, ask me to delete it, or object to my holding it at all. Email archiek@whetstone.studio and I will action it within one month, normally the same week.

If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. I would rather you told me first so I can put it right.

Changes

If this notice changes, the date at the top changes with it. There is no archive of old versions; if you need one, ask.
