Sharp websites for skilled trades.
Whetstone is a one-man web studio in Bournemouth. I design and build the site your work deserves, and I tell you the price on the first call. Trades are my specialty; any local business that wants a sharper site is welcome.
Recent work
All of it, whole →What I do
Three jobs. I'll tell you on the call which one you need.
A new website
fixed price, quoted on the call
For businesses running on word of mouth, a dead Facebook page, or nothing at all. Designed from a blank page for your trade, live on your own domain. Half up front, half when you approve it.
A rebuild
fixed price, quoted on the call
You have a website; it's costing you work. I rebuild it from scratch on the same domain, keeping your reviews, your name and your number, then redesigning the rest. Your old site stays up until the new one replaces it.
A straight fix
quoted as a fix
Sometimes the site doesn't need rebuilding, and I'll tell you that on the call. Broken forms, dire speed, photos that undersell the work: fixed and billed as the small job it is.
For trades
Five pages, your photos, your words, one form straight to your inbox.
For firms
Case studies, copy written from interviews, and a system you add projects to yourself.
Quoted on the call, then fixed: half up front, half when you approve the finished site — or spread over monthly payments if that suits your cash flow better. The full terms and the four-step process are on one page.
If the design isn't right at the halfway review, you walk away and owe nothing more.
Straight answers
Asked on the first call, answered before it.
How long does it take?
About two weeks from first call to live, if you're quick with feedback. The build is fast; the schedule depends on you.
What do you need from me?
One phone call, your photos of real jobs, and honest answers about what work you want more of. I write the copy.
Do you only build for trades?
Trades are where I started and what the portfolio shows, but the process works for any local business: cafés, salons, clinics, shops. If you want a sharper site, book the call.
Fifteen minutes buys you
A straight look at what your current site is costing you
An exact, fixed price, quoted on the call and never after it
A straight answer if a rebuild isn't worth it
No pitch and no follow-up sequence.
